Quite obvi­ously, wast­ing time is all that any­one ever does on the inter­net any­way, but now it’s got­ten much much eas­ier with Stum­ble­Upon.

It’s a tool­bar — ver­sions for IE and Gecko — that ran­domly pulls up sites that might be of inter­est to you, given the pref­er­ences you choose. I don’t nor­mally bother with stuff like this, but I installed it last night and it’s amazing.

Two of my early serendip­i­tous dis­cov­er­ies include:

• A His­tory of Banned Music

both of which pro­ceeded to con­sume inor­di­nate amounts of time.
