I am pretty confident it is for real... :-D

I get tired of driving to and from Sydney for events, I would much rather take a nice plane trip somewhere that is too far to drive, and enjoy a few days somewhere I haven't been before. Considering this and the fact that the Perth new media community is incredible.... I might have to change my vote.

Considering these guys are from Newcastle there maybe an element of them feeling like outsiders with the Sydney crew, hence the EOI.

But Myles is right the free market research is invaluable. I can see a podcamp in Perth in the near future...

I don't think it matters if it is real or not - they have done some free market research for us, so if it all falls through, we can still put an event on locally. Win-win really.
